probably shouldn"t have played golf today. a smarter women would have embraced her gains and protected them.  NOT ME!  by the 4th hole, i was queastioning my sanity.  hope i didn't undo something good.  the cortisone injection really helped.  felt great this morning.  a little less this afternoon.  but like i said to hutch, there's something to be said for quality of life!

be well, be safe!

I'm glad you gave it a try.  I'm new here and not officially diagnosed (working with a rheumy on that).

I love golf and enjoy playing with my husband.  I don't want to give up on that quality of life part. I've been out with him a couple of times since the onset of my symptoms. One time I was only able to play 4 holes; the next time I finished nine (although I paid for it for days).  What I refuse to do, however, is NOT to go.  If I actually do have RA and things get worse, I will still try to go out with him, keep him company, and hopefully, play a little.

Best of luck to you!

It is very difficult to give up the things you love to do...especially when you are feeling good.

gang, i know that you don't know me....on going i hope you will, but the glass is NEVER half empty  always half full.  rock on!  i'm going too!

If I'm going to do a lot with my hands that requires any force or weight, I put on my wrist braces. Might help if you find you really need it. Also, ROM exercises for your hands and shoulders might keep you from losing this wonderful past time.

Sounds fun. Only been golfing a couple of times, but loved it.

Hi Starmom:  Almost got to the greens this past week but a painful shoulder has kept me down this week.  Sometimes I play 4 holes, sometimes 6, very seldom 9 but that's ok.  As long as I get out and try.  There are times that all I do is drive the cart while my husband plays.  We're together and that counts as much as golfing 9 holes.  We get to see friends, enjoy the sunshine, and listen to the bull frogs by the pond.

I'm glad you played! We can't let RA take everything away from us. Chances are you would have ended up feeling the way you do even if you hadn't gone.

Golf! What a good idea. The weather is perfect for it. I dont ever think in terms of going out and doing anything. I am always so worried about work and chores, I dont plan for the good stuff.
