my name is zenab and i am 18 years old. i am from the uk
and this is my story.
I was diagnosed with ankylosing
spondylitis. in April 2004.i was 16.
i missed half of my GCSE year. i couldn't do any of my GCSE.that i was going to do befor i was diagnosed.
then i started my first college year in september 2004.
i find it soooo difficult to do all my studies and cope with the pain at the same time. and the people in my class were so horrible to me. thay never spoke to me and i tried to make friends with them but they didnt want to know.
The pain got too much to bear and i missed a lot of college and i missed a lot of work. so i finished the course in january 2005
i do see a rheumatologists at the royal free hospital. he is really not nice at all. every time i go to him and tell him i am in too much pain and i don't sleep he just says keep taking the tablets and exercise.
when i was diagnosed i started doing physio for about a year. and it had no change to the pain. it made it more painful for me.
then i waiitted 6 months to do hiydro therapy. and i didnot like it because alfer being in the water the pain got worse.
i cant believe that my doctor sad to me all the pain you arein might be all in your mind and that you mite be amagning it all.
so he refured me to a physcologist.

was very nice to me. and i see her on a reguler bases. i talk to her about everything that i am feeling.
then i was refured to the pain mangment clinic.
thay put me on the list for getting accupist.
i started a few months of the accupust. and everytime i got it it didn't make the pain any better.
I started the college of north west london in september 2005.
and i selltaled in very quickley. and my teachers were very under standing about my whole thing.
and i have made loads of new friends who i feel understand me. and thay are always there for me when ever i came to college with a lot of pain thay try and make my day a little easer.

I have through so much in the past 2 years. that i feel like i cant cope anymore.
all i do all day is try my eyes out and its very hard to study when i have soooo much pain in my back.
i have also have problems with my ears,eyes,legs but i have had to deal with it all my life.i try and take one day at a time.
i am feeling very deprest and my pain gets too much for me too cope with.
if anyone would like someone to talk to coz i know what you are all going though i am going though what you are going though.
i would love to talk to young people my age who are going though what i am going though.
