I知 days away from having my knee replaced and I知 filling out all kinds of forms ,some are end of life type stuff and I知 starting to get freaked out over all this . I was ok till I opened the booklet up and now I知 not ok , oh boy I知 getting nervous as hell . I just had to say this ,you know

Hi Dave-Sorry to hear about all you are going
through. I know all that paperwork and preparation
can be scary. I've had to fill it out a few times myself.
Try not to let it overwhelm you. Just try to focus on
how much better things will be after your surgery and
healing. Take care-I'm sure things will go well for
you.

Take a few deep breaths and "Just do it!!"

Dave, from working at a surgery center Crunchy's right on the money. Patients getting a mole removed have the same papers. As she said just let them know about being nervous, there's things they can do to to help. My best advise for anyone having surgery is to be completely honest and give as much information as possible when giving your pre-op medical history. It matters so much in your treatment and end result! Believe me there's nothing the pre-op nursed haven't heard. Best wishes, it will all be worth it soon.Dave, they made me fill it out for a bone scan!!!! They've gotten a little goofy about the rules. When I went in for a blood test, they made me give them the phone numbers of all my next of kin.

Good luck, Dave.

I know that's in my future and I would be nervous too as I hate surgery. But I've had nine of them and I'm step here. The guys at physcial therapy that have had knee replacements seem to be doing great.

Mobility, think about that. You  are going to get mobility without all that pain. I think it's worth it.

Very best of luck.

Best of Luck with the Surgery Dave!!

Just wanted to wish you luck Dave.  It can be nervous anytime you go in for surgery.  Those papers are standard for everyone.  Try not to let it get to you too much.  Have faith in your surgeon and you will definitely be in my thoughts.

Dave,  Before I went into surgery, they gave me some valium.  Boy did that help my nerves.  It is normal to be scared.  I have read about a lot of knee and hip replacements on these boards.  I am certain mine will come someday too but the good news is - I always hear positive results.  You are going to be dancing

Good luck with the surgery Dave!

i know all will go well but it doesnt hit home that your going under the knife till you start with all the pre-op stuff . it's just getting to that day when all this happens and getting to the day when i'll be up an about. i look forward to going somewhere, anywhere and walking with no or small amounts of pain . i'll let you all know how it comes out  in about two weeks when out of the PT home i'll be going to Good luck Dave. You're in my prayers.I hope the surgery is great and you're walking again. Won't that be wonderful?

Best of luck Dave, I hope everything turns out to be far easier than you expected.  Soon you'll be able to run like the bionic man!

I also want to wish you good luck Dave. I know surgery is not a fun thing to go through, but I have several family members who found it really helped them a lot. Being nervous about it is normal. But it will turn out great. I know it.
