Hi and help from the newbie | Arthritis Information

I just returned from taking my daughter to college.  This is the first time I have flown since my dx.  Our plane was delayed on the runway in FL for 2 hours.  When I arrived in Houston my hands and feet were swollen.  Due to weather we were delayed in the Houston airpost for 5 hours.  We then boarded a flight to Lubbock.  We were on one of those little express planes.  When we started to decend at the Lubbock airport the weather prevented us from landing.  Our plane made an emergency landing at the Midland Airport (which was closed).  We sat on the tar mac for 5 1/2 hours in the cramped aircraft.  My hands and feet are hurting and very swollen. My left leg aches and 3 of my toes feel numb.  I flew home today and I was hoping once I rested the swelling and pain would decrease.  I feel terrible.  I am worried my medication may increase my risk for DVT's and wondering if this should just be expected due to the disease process.  Anyone with answers?

I , too, need to know this info.  Recently diagnosed with RA, I am having bad swelling in my hands and feet.  My feet are not painful, but my hands hurt all the time.  One of my two daughters lives in CA and I want to fly to see her.  What will happen on the plane?  Would my symptoms worsen?  I've already had blood clots in my lungs.  Three years ago, I broke my leg while out west and had to fly home.  Clots came a month later.  I didn't realize this could happen again if I fly while having RA.  What can all of you tell us?
