Has anyone found a good way to deal with the problems with meds and summer? I know that I shouldn't be in the sun at all but that's no way for me to live!! Right now meds are working so well, I feel just like I used to before RA. I am 28 and dx'd almost 3 years ago. I am now on Remicade, MTX, Sulfasalazine, folic acid and vitamins. After only a short time in the sun this weekend (Oklahoma), my shoulders and chest are covered with red bumps. Not quite a rash but more like pimples. And to answer your first question, YES I was wearing sunscrean. 38 SPF. I hope to be well enough this summer to be outside as much as I can. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks and hugs!!

You need to make sure you are wearing clothes to block out the sun.  there are clothes now with sunblock  in them.  I always wear sunblock of 45 or higher, a hat, sunglasses and don't stay in the sun long.  If you can sit in the shade or work outside early morning or in the late afternoon.  That is the best I can tell you.  meme

I have used the advice Meme has given you successfully. You don't really have much in the way of choices as you recently found out. Its fantastic that you feel as good as before RA, a lot of people here, including me are are both happy for you

Maybe if you had a beach wrap-around skirt and shirt to wear when in the sun. These look great over bathing suits. A sun hat would go great with the look. Its a thought.

I hope you continue to feel better and better.
