Has anyone ever taken Humira overseas? I am worried about security and
customs. Thanks so much. Hi Elizabeth: We were in Mexico, about 1,000 miles from the U.S. and I needed 1 more month of Enbrel. I contacted the largest pharmacy in Mex. and they carrried Enbrel but the cost was prohibitive. My monthly supply cost about ,300 and the charge in Mex. was ,300 for 1 injection. Stan flew to the U.S. and picked up the Enbrel and flew back to Mex. He had a copy of the RX from my Doctor. Customs never opened the case so he didn't have to produce the RX copy or give them any explanations. I don't know what customs will be like in Europe but I'd have a RX from the Dr. and possibly a letter explaining the reason for the injectibles. Also call the Embassy that's closest to you for further information or talk to customs at the closest airport. We did both of these things. You may get conflicting information and you'll have to sort through it and make decisions based on what customs tell you.
