So go ahead and yell at me... I forgot to take my Actonel for the past 2 weeks, I have only been taking my folic acid sporadically, and I havent had a vitamin one in at least a week. I am just so tired of taking all of this stuff all of the time. I think I just needed a break. I am going to get back to it all soon. Anyone else ever do this?

I did it this past week too..lol.   Haven't taken my multi-vitamin or calcium supp.  I know I need them, but I feel the same way...I get so tired of all these daggone pills I just need a break once in a while.

But let's get back on them now :)

I'll slack off on my calcium. I hate those large pills!! But I keep my Folic Acid, HRT and nightly pain pills in a weekly dose pill box and just take them every night after I brush my teeth. It's more of a habit than anything now. Somethings like my MTX & Humira really get screwed up if I skip a dose so I'm pretty religious about that stuff.

Years ago when I was about 5 years into all this I discontinued meds all together. BIG MISTAKE. I won't do that again. One time will teach ya!!

What is actonel for? I can't remember.

Actonel is like Fosomax it is for osteopenia/osteoporosis.

I keep all of my meds in a day of the week pill box too. I have been picking and choosing this week though...as if it were a box  of cheap chocolates.

How long have you been on Actonel? You're in your early 30ties right? I'm interested because I'm in menopause remember? Well they've got me on HRT and I've been on it for a year and a half now. They said I needed because of early bone loss. I already show osteopenia in my hips. I'm curious if something like that would be better for me long term than HRT?

What's your thoughts?

I slacked off the vitamins this week for the first time too.  I use the pill box for the week too.  I need to refill it today, yet I haven't had the desire.  sigh...your thread has prompted me to get off my butt.

I haven't taken my ACTONEL or CALCIUM PILLS either in like 3 to 4 weeks.  I guess I have been so frustated lately...I just was tired of taking all this crap to feel like crap.

I have started back on my regimen this week.  Didn't want any damage I can prevent...Roblyn Yahh, the good old pill box!! I have one for putting my night time pills in. I can't tell you how many times I've dropped the pills down the drain if I'm taking them from the bottles! Pill box is much easier as I pop the one section open, dump in the hand and down the hatch they go.
If I forget to take them, then my joints will ache and that tired feeling will rush in. So I try to take them when I'm suppose to.

MarisaCrunchy, I'm with you. I hate all the pills I have to take and sometimes I don't take them all although I try. After this latest bout with shingles I feel ready to throw out all the meds. My weakened immune sysstem is making me have a particularly terrible time with the shingles. Not only did it invade my eyelid and completely swell my eye, now I have cold symptoms in the oneside of my face and pain behind my ear. I see the eye specialist tomorrow and my rheumy Wednesday. I've had it. I almost think I'd be better just dealing with the problems of RA. All the meds are ruining the rest of my system.

You gals have just brightened my day a bit! I do the same darn thing! I take my Prednisone & Folic Acid daily, MTX weekly, but I hate to take vitamins. I "forget" my B-50 , and & Women's One A Day, and Fish Oil. The Fish Oil makes me sick to my stomach. I go for days not taking these  vitamins. I know this is wrong, but I can't help it. I take plenty of other medications daily. My husband gets on me all the time about this.

Let's all try to be BETTER!!! Take what we are suppose to take. lol

I have osteopenia in my hips, too.  I am unable to take anything with hormones because of having had blood clots in my lungs three years ago.  Consequently, I also have to suffer with the hot flashes.  Does anyone know of any other meds that would be safe for me.  I take calcium, but that's it.

If you don't like big calcium tablets, why not try some of the chews (Viactive) or chewable tablets. I even found some calcium chewing gum recently.

Thank goodness!!!I didn't know if I was just lazy or loosing my mind.

I love chocolate but these cheap chocolates I would really rather do without!!

Got the 7day pill box too, needed filled yesterday but just couldn't make myself do it.  I filled it today..but didn't take them AGAIN!!!  Two days without my HRT....nobody is gonna be able to stand me tomorrow!!

Why do they have to make these vits and minerals the size of your head???

I think I do know why I dont like to take the vitamins, calcium, etc....they give me indigestion and taste gross. There is nothing like burping vitamins for 6 hours. You're all right about that. I'm good about the pred. & the MTX. I take a B complex and the Celebrex (when I can get it), and the folic acid and the prilosec (because I can't LIVE without the prilosec), and the claritin. But there are times when I just stare at the calcium (and I do take the chews, but I've come to hate even them) and the multi-vit and I just say - no can do. I used to drink grapefruit juice with calcium, and I actually LIKED it. But they discontinued it. The orange juice with calcium is too sweet. It's too much, and it never stops. So we're ALL bad, Crunchy. They need to fit it all into one GOOD piece of chocolate. I'd take that in a heartbeat. You know I complain about the injections, but once they are done, I always think how nice it is that I wont have to deal with them again for a week.

I'm guilty too. I hate swallowing all those pills every day. So, on Saturday morning, I say to myself, "Uh-huh." Then, I restart the vitamins on Sunday. Makes me feel just a bit better.

However, because I hate taking calcium so much, and I should be taking 3 a day, I use it as great excuse for frozen yogurt. MMMMM!!! I'll take my calcium that way anytime.

I do take my calcium every day, but also fill in with (are you ready?), DREYER'S GRAND LIGHT ICE CREAM! Another source of calcium, low fat and really, really yummy! Just wait til it goes on sale for 2 for .00.

Also, nu2ra, I also can't take hormones because of a very strong breast cancer history in my family. My doctor told me long ago, when I very first started having hot flashes, to take soy 2 x a day, and also to take flaxseed oil. I think flaxseed is for general health. My pain specialist said to take B-complex. These are in addition to calcium, D, and all the other regular ones.

Like we don't all take enough pills already...
