New Pa diagnosis. Would love feedback | Arthritis Information

I was just diagnosed with PA yesterday. I also have RA,OA and Meniere's Disease and Kidney stones. I feel like I am falling apart. So far my PA shows itself with terrible nails, all discolored (black, green, yellow, and brown). I have various fungus growing under them (nails were biopsied) One is all white. My toenails look different yet-yellow and looks like a washboard. Others are white.I do not have psoriasis at this point but I have very dry and peeling skin. My eyes are also itchy.

I would love to hear from anyone who has PA . I would love to know anything that you would like to tell me.

Thanks so much

Bless your heart. Just one more thing to have to deal with; huh?

I don't have any experience myself...but there are several here that do. Hang in there; someone will be along shortly to help find some information.

Best of luck to you. I know it's difficult dealing with all these different things at once.

Thanks Lovie. I appreciate the comment.

Could the itchy eyes be dry eyes? You can buy over the counter eye drops to help lubricate. I have Sjogrens and my eyes are a problem so I use drops to relieve the discomfort. Ask any pharmacist and they will steer you in the rt direction. There are a couple of people here who have PA, I'm sure you'll hear from them. Take care.

Sorry to hear that you have been dx'd with PA. I'm 35 and I too have this disease. I have not had the nail problems as of yet (knock on wood), but I do have the psoriasis and of course the arthritis and both get bad at times. The sun helps out as far as the skin goes. I am not sure what to tell you as far as the nail problems go. I had a little bit of trouble with them about a year ago, but oddly, and I've heard this from others with PA, it went away. So there is hope for that. Sometimes though, it just sticks around.

As far as your eyes go, I agree with Dyna. Did you have this diagnosed yet? You should probably have your doctor take a look at this. I have a link for a product that I had seen at another site for dry eyes. It can also be used for other things(I won't mention here), but it is great for dry eyes. If you have any questions about it, please feel free to just ask your pharmacist. I freaked a little when I saw the site, but actually it's in fairly good taste.

Hope this helped you a little. God bless. Below is the link....

I have pa too I have had it for at least 4 to 5yrs now.  I am on enbrel and mtx and the enbrel helps with the psoriasis.  I have the yucky toe nails and several toes affected with the pa.  My finger nails have the ridges and some pitting.  Sun is supose to be good for psoriasis, but you have to check with the meds you are taking, some make you more sensitive to the sun, so you have to watch outdoor activities and how long you can be out there..  I have had the psoriasis on my scalp, knees, feet, elbows, and very badly on my back at the base of my torso.  As I said the enbrel helps alot it takes a couple months but you see the difference.  It hasn't help with nails, I think we are stuck with those.
