It was a short work week for me due to my sinus infection. Had problems with the antibiotic upsetting my stomach. The only food that I could take with the antibiotic is ice cream. Every thing else I get the upset stomach.
Work was crazy. One of my co-workers was rushed to the hospital. So it's been only me and the boss for the past two days. Two people can't handle it. Hopefully, it will be better next week.
My feet have been cramping and are swollen. The joints in my toes are red and painful. This is the worst flare that I've had in a long time. I have a hard time sleeping as my feet feel like something is crawling inside. I take a muscle relaxer and sometimes it works and sometimes it just dulls the pain and spasms. Will try to put a pillow under them to see if that will help. I'm going to my ra doc, the last of the month and hopefully, he will change my meds. Will keep you posted.

MarisaBoy, I wish I had some suggestion to offer. Can you get into the RD sooner, or at least call and leave a message about how poorly you are doing? Sometimes, they will come up with something that will help. If you describe your symptoms, even over the phone, they might be able to prescribe something to give you relief. Don't suffer.

Any excuse to eat ice cream huh?

I know exactly what you mean about the foot pain. That was how my first bad flare was back in Feb. when I was diagnosed. The pain and the spasms were so bad that even strong pain meds and muscle relaxers onlly took the edge off. I had to take medicine for nausea b/c the pain was making me sick to me stomach.  For some reason, the heating pad seamed to bother them even more. I massaged my feet and then put socks on and wrapped them around the arches with ace bandages. The problem was that during the day they hurt, but I was still up and on my feet. At night, when I would lay down it would all catch up with me and they would just spasm non-stop. I really had to be careful. The only thing that helped at that point was the prednisone.

I'm so sorry your doing so poorly right now.

How about a heating pad or microwaving a sock full of rice to put on your feet. I've also used a vibrating/heated massager to wrap my feet and ankles in (the kind you put in a chair & sit on). Can't hurt to try.

Marisa Sue;

Be sure to check with your Ra about low blood calicum. My feet and legs were cramping to the point of not being able to sleep, and very painful. But it turned out that extra calicum (like tums) and vit. D has helped a lot. If you can't get into you Ra try calling with your problem. Hope you find relief soon.

I was getting horrible leg cramps and starting drinking a glass of Tonic Water (with a bit of lemon) at my RDs suggestion. Put a stop to the cramps right away!
