Hi I am 40 years old mother of two and grandmother (nanna) of 1.

I was diagnosed with R/A when I was 34 but have been suffering for 12 years. I have been taking MTX/Plaquinil/humeria.  Before I was diagnosed I thought I couldn't bare to go on another day.  The pain is that bad.As you all know.  Things are better for me now.  I was diagnosed 2 years ago with scleritis this is R/A of the eye.  Its very scary.  I can no  longer take the humeria I see my Dr. tomorrow because it had my immune system so low I couiln't fight off a cold that turned into bronchitis.  I've been off the hunmeria for 6 weeks.  I think tha Remicade is the next option for me.  Can anyone give me any thoughts on this med.  I already feel my health regressing. I don't want to go back to that pain again.  I feel like its a matter of time.

 Thanks

HI I am Raina snow and I read up on that new medicine it does decrease your immune system again.  It has a lot of side effects if you put the name of it in your browser you will see the side effects and what it is used for this does not always mean these will happen to you I always ask my pharmacist about adverse reactions to any new medicines I get he knows more then the drs. Sometimes.

I was on Remicade and loved it. But I guess there are some new side affects out there. There are several biologics. It seems that most people are being put on a combination of Enbrel and MTX.

Jojo, in your case, I think it is probably worth the risk. You've already tried other things. You really need at least one biologic in your situation.

Good luck with your appointment.
