Went to another of my doctors | Arthritis Information

Here a doctor, there a doctor!!! Had to go to my GP and have the blood pressure checked. It's running just a little high. So here I go to the pharmancy to get another medication. It's very weak and it's the amount that's given to kids. I hate getting older as it seems that my body wants to fall apart.
We started to talk about my OA, it's giving me alot of trouble, and I asked about Celebrax. We discussed the pros and cons of it and she told me to ask my rhummy. So I will when I see him next week. I'm willing to try it to see if I can get some of this OA pain under control. I want to be able to sit, stand, and walk somewhat normal. I miss my walks to clear my head and to think. Plus it would be nice to be able to do some window shopping with out wondering if I'm going to be able to make it back to the car.

MarisaMarisa have you ever taken Synvisc?

Synvisc worked so well for my knees. Maybe that's what they need again. Unfortunately, the knee that is acting up is on the same leg as my bad hip. So, double ouch!!

But crunchy is right. Ask the doc about Synvisc shots. My surgeon wouldn't give them to me. I don't why. But my RD did. It adds a wonderful cushion. Not everybody responds to them, but if you do it really relieves the pain.

Understand about the walks. Those are hard for me.

Crunchy, I'm going to ask my RD about Synvisc. The knee is still giving me trouble and now I'm getting muscle spams in my feet again. Had a hard time sleeping last night and I had to cancel my physical therapy appt. for today.
I'm resting as I'm tired and playing on my PC. I've got things that need to be done but my get up and go pooped out. The cats are happy as I'm not telling them to leave things alone. They had a busy morning rearranging my neatly stacked newspapers, turning over the basket of clean clothes waiting to be put away, and finally rearranging the towels on the shelf in the bathroom. Also dumping out the waste paper basket in the bathroom. Now they are sleeping and if I can get the get up and go, going, I'll pick up after them.

MarisaMy doctor told me the that synvisc works well for the knees, but not so well for hips.  To inject it into the hip they have to do it using an ultrasound, and then the results are very short-lived.  Because of that many insurance companies won't even cover it.  He said it would be good if you were going on vacation or to a wedding or special event that you needed to feel good for, but it would only last a few weeks.  Sure do wish they would come up with something good for the hips, cause walking like my avatar is just plain exhausting and it hurts!Yes, from what I got by talking to the drug rep, she said it was intended for use in OA in the knees.
