Hello all.

I have been diagnosed with RA for about 3 years now.  I have started getting symptoms of lupus and I was diagnosed with Osteo. earlier this year.

I am a single college grad with no kids.  I do have two boxers named Hagrid and Tonks.  They keep me going.

I'm really glad to be here.

Welcome to the board and welcome (bow wow) to Hagrid and Tonks.  I love Boxers.  They're so majestic and intelligent.  Hope you're doing well with the mixed bag of immune diseases.  You're at the right place if you need some advice, information.

Yes, glad to have you on board. Watch out for those big waves of good one day and bad the next day. We have to hold on tight to each other to keep from losing our balance.

Definitely walking like an old sailor these days. But then, I never was graceful.

You're so young to have so much. But glad you're hear and doggies are most welcome.

Welcome!

Your dogs are so beautiful! I work with a woman who is crazy about Boxers. She had two, but had to put one down last summer. Just recently, she was driving home from work and saw a Boxer in the middle of the road near her home. She pulled over, knowing that it belonged to one of her neighbors. When she brought the dog to his house, the owner told her that his dog was actually the brother to her boxer! Now the two dogs play together every day. I keep hearing the story over and over on our breaks because she is so exctied. It is a cute story though.

Deanna- I hope you do get that dog.  They are so nice to have around, and they make me get up and get moving.

They are cute, I have a friend that has a boxer and his two little girls climb all over that dog. The dog is so gentle with the children, he just stands very still untill they are done. He is a good watch dog for the house too. I think anyone who has a pure bred animal is just a little obsessive about that breed. I love my chihuahuas...and I am nuts about chi's....they are just like big dogs but in little bity bodies. I have a 2 1/2 pounder named Dixie and a 5 pounder named Grimm. What are you going to name your next two?

I have some names picked out for the next chihuahuas that I am going to get too.  I am going with southern names for all of my girls....the next two will be Ruby and Molly.

I am kinda wanting a white one next, to complete the color collection.

Ruby and Molly sound like very nice names.  I have a friend with chihus named Taco and Belle.

Boxers are making a huge comeback in popularity!  We got one of our boxers from Boxer Rescue - it's a great organization.  I highly recommend contacting them if you are interested in getting a boxer.

They are soo funny.  They can do the craziest things!  Our girl Roxie used to get upset when we would leave her home, so she would go into our closet and pull out all the coats, hats, etc. and put it in a big pile in the middle of the room.  It was like she was saying, "Okay, if you leave me alone, I'll take this, and I'll take that and they're mine, all mine!"

They are wonderful with children - I've never, ever had to worry.  Problem is there are ignorant people who think boxers are pit bulls and are afraid of them.

I like Albus...what about Ron? A dog named Ron...thats funny. But I do like Albus. What was the name of the Pheonix?

Oh you could do the names of the houses....Griffendoor, Slytherine, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw....

I have a pit...  he's over there in my avatar spot.  What a great dog he is!!  He grew up from 10 days old with my friends daughter, whe is a toddler, she climbs all over him, takes toys from his mouth, etc.  I'm in love with this breed!!!  Such a shame they got such a bad rap from ignorant  owners.

Tonks and Hillhoney, the pit bull and the boxer are descended from the same breed a long time ago!

For the record I have nothing against Pits.  I think they are great dogs.

I had not thought of Ron, but I will put it on the list.  My sister has a cat named Gryffendor.  The phoenix in Fawkes.

I will definatley get my next boxers from boxer rescue.  I got my current two from breeders and I'm never doing that again!  I could just talk about dogs all day. *sighhh*

I am pretty attached to my pups too! I have kids, and my dad teases me that I fuss over my dog so much. He tells me that I am to young to be so eccentric about my dog. But she makes me smile, so do my kids...but they can be pests too...she never does anything bad!
