Hello everyone, I am a newbie to this message board stuff...

I have been reading quite a few of your messages and find I AM NOT ALONE!  I was diagnosed in Sept. of last year, and still feel pretty cruddy.  I first started with my feet in May, and this May has again proven to be ugly for me.  Has anyone else noticed if their RA is worse with the environmental changes like allergies can be?

Hi there. Welcome to the group....we sure are glad you're here.

Yes; environmental changes certainly effect me!! Yesterday was a damp, rainy day here and I did not feel well at all!! My RA is under pretty good control due to Humira and MTX; but a damp, cold or rainy day always seems to get the best of me.

What should we call you? Deer? IT's hard to tell with some of these screen names.

Again; welcome to our group. If your anything like the rest of us this will quickly become a place you'll find support, valuable resources and most of all loving friendship with people who know and understand your daily struggles.

Look forward to seeing you here more.

Lovie

Hi, yeah the environment can have a big impact on how the RA behaves itself. I find i start to ache if its going to rain the next day. I think it has something to do with pressure change, or so my rheumy tells me!

Oh, and welcome.

Thanks Guys,

I have a feeling that I will be spending time here with people who know how bad it can get.  At least I have a good support group with my family!  After last summer, my husband has a whole new appreciation of me.  I would rather have had my feet cut off than tolerate the pain!  Now, my rheumy has me on Plaquenil and mtx and trying to go off the prednisone(love it!), but I'm not doing too hot with going off the pred.  I am wondering about the biological drugs, and how they work for people out there.

Thanks for any evaluations from you all!

Definitely humidity affects me. Also any pressure changes also. I can tell when a storm is coming off the coast!!!!!! hee hee

Welcome to the message board!!!

Marcy

WECLOME!!! WELCOME!!!

WE ARE SO GLAD TO HAVE YOU HERE!!!!  As the others stated yes weather can affect and when it changes it can back you body feel bad or even good depends on the pressure, etc.  Again Welcome!!!!

I'm taking 22.5 MTX & Humira weekly and I seem to feel better than ever before. It's a good combination for me. I would definately recommend the newer biologics for anyone who has not had success with other treatments...and has an insurance plan that will cover it. They are all VERY expensive.

Personal happiness and less stress in my life has helped with the improvements as well I'm certain.

Welcome

I take Enbrel, Imuran, Celebrex, Prednisone
