Hi all,  I don't think I've posted for about 5-6 weeks, but I've been busy and when not busy, resting to compensate for being busy!!  I'm sure you all know what I mean.

On June 3rd I went to see Elton John in concert, in a Kent County Cricket Club.  I only found out about going the day before as I was phoned to say I'd won tickets through BBC Radio 2.  I had entered a competition the week before, guessed the answer and won!  I had a friend visiting that day, and she came with me as hubby was working.  I ended up having a very late night.

(My whole family and friends now think I am lucky, as I also won tickets last year for the LIVE8 show in London's Hyde Park on July 2nd, but I never usually win anything!)

On June 10th I saw Bon Jovi at the Milton Keynes Bowl.  They should have been opening the new Wembley Stadium in London, but the builders are still there so the gig was moved about 30 miles north.  I went with an old friend who I have known for 37 years, since we were both 10.  She lives nearer the gig site than I do, so I went up to visit the day before and we caught up on old times.  We were great frinds when we were both teenagers, and lots of old memories were dug up!!

The gig was amazing.  I have been a fan since the 90's but other times that they were here in England I was either sick or just not able to go.  I payed for premium tickets and they were well worth it.  JBJ was in touching distance and I have some great photos as a memento.

June 17th saw me and Tom (hubby) flying to Aberdeen, Scotland, to attend an old friend's wedding.  Both he and my husband grew up together in the same apartment building, on the same floor, doors opposite, in Palermo, Sicily.  They both came over to the UK in Winter 1976 and have always kept in touch.  I met them both in 1981 while working with them both at the London Hilton, Park Lane, when it had a club.  I was the cashier and they were both barmen.  Tony prieviously married a woman from Scotland and that is what took him up there in about 1987.  Unfortunately that marriage didn't work out, but he met his bride in 1992 and they have been together ever since and he has been father to her 2 children, now 22 and 19.  Their wedding was low key, but classy.  The reception was in a top class hotel in Aberdeen, the food and service was brilliant and then they had a party at there home in the evening.  We stayed there until the Tuesday, before flying home.  So it was a brilliant long weekend, but boy did I feel it afterwards!!

I think all three weekends caught up on me, but still haven't had a cortisone injection, 11 weeks and counting, and I think the Arava is starting to work.  I say my Rheumy on Friday last and he said keep on doing what you're doing and see us in 4 months!!  I still feel achy, and there is some minor swelling in my hands, but I don't have any major pain, and the increase in anti depressant is working, though I could sleep for England and sometimes do!!

All in all, life is improving ever so slightly and I can face the day again, if not always with a smile, without a grimace!!!

Keep well, all of you out there and try to keep smiling!

By the way, Hubby is VERY happy as Italy won the World Cup last night.

Wow...you sure have been a busy girl.   I saw Elton John about 7 years ago.  I really enjoy his music.

Glad you're doing well Aurora!
