I am going to go to the mayo clinic in Jacksonville Florida. I didn't go see my rheumy (the doctor from hell) I cancelled the appt i was suppose to go see her last Monday i just couldn't do it. I thought if i get this depressed seeing her again i don't need to keep her as a doctor. Anyway was wondering if anyone has been to this one and which doctor did you like or have heard is good. I look on the site Boy do those doctors look like real professional (don't know how to act) lol..... I do believe they won't shrug there shoulders and say i don't know.  Please pray for me that i will get some answers

Oh Gizzy, I'm so happy you are doing this. I so want you to find the answers you need. I've been worried about you.

When do you go?

I see my family doctor this week and i am going to ask him to set the appt for me that way i can get in faster. I didn't know that you don't need a referral. After having a bad flair this weekend i decided that i am going to take the advice you all gave me and stand up for myself. I also found out (I should have known this) that getting an eye exam can tell a lot about your health. I wear glasses but haven't had an exam in a few years . Anyway i am praying that its not a long wait to be seen in the mayo clinic. They have good info on their site on RA anyone wants to check it out. Thank you deanna Good for you Gizzy. I haven't been to a Mayo Clinic but I sure have heard good things about them and I think it wise of you to seek another opinion since your rheumatologist has not been ideal. Let us know how it turns out. I've been thinking of doing the same thing myself.Gizzy, it is about time!!!!! Make sure you type up a list of all of the things that have been bothering you, so you won't feel flustered when you're talking to the RD. Make sure you go through the WHOLE LIST. I haven't been to any Mayo clinic, but I do hope you'll get more professional treatment from them. I think you will. A lot of us tend to shrug off our pain, but if we don't take it seriously and SPEAK UP about it, the doctors won't do anything about it. Healthy people don't hurt. Remember that. Good Luck Gizzy!
