Rome with diverticulitis | Arthritis Information

I can't believe this. I have been doing everything possible to get myself healthy for Rome after getting over shingles. Now I diverticulitis for the third time. The doctor is letting me go but I'm on a clear diet for two days with antibiotics, off MTX and enbrel for the duration, and then on a very restrictive diet for 7-10 days if it improves. It is going to be hell traveling over 11 hours on plane with these complications. I hope that when I get there, it improves and I get to have some fun. I've already lost 3 pounds in about 5 days. I am so sick of being sick. Please keep me in your prayers friends. I fly out Sunday but am on the road tomorrow. If all goes well and I make it to Rome in one piece, you probably won't hear from me for the next 2 1/2 weeks. I may have to find an Internet Cafe if I go into withdrawal from you all.Linda, you'll be in my prayers. It seems a lot of stress & a lot of work for the "fun" of a vacation. I hope that when you actually get there, your body calms down & goes along for the ride (for me, the pre-trip is always terribly stressful, and you've had so much going on).

In spite of all, have a wonderful time, take lots of pictures and make many beautiful memories.

We'll be with you in spirit.
Thanks Fiona. You are right . It is a lot of stress. I think I would be teribly depressed if I had to stay home alone for two and a half weeks and that's what will happen if I don't go. I'm taking a chance but the doctor gave me the go ahead so I'm going for it.

You have my sympathy. I know what you are going through because my mom has diverticulitis.  I hope the antibiotics do their job and get you well for your trip.

Linda, all you needed was another thing. I hope Rome is a vacation from all this and that you have lots of fun and no pain, no agony. Look forward to a message from Rome. Be safe.My prayers coming your way Linda.  Try to spite this disease and have a good vacation anyway.  You deserve it !!!!!  Look forward to hearing all about it.

I hope she feels better soon! What a bummer to have that problem come up. Rome...sounds fab doesnt it?I hope you are feeling better and that you hang in there okay.  Good luck!
