Has anyone else out there lost their hair? Excessive thinning.....REALLY excessive thinning
Is it from medication? I take hydroxychloroquine and took myself off of the prednisone (thinking that was causing the hair loss) and I just started taking Celebrex.
1 DR says I have RA (confirmed from MRI's), one says he's not sure, one says MRI's aren't conclusive and is running more tests and is looking for lupus. UGH....they are have differing opinions.....
Any help would be appreciated......
Hi. I have hair loss from methetrexate. Are you on that by any chance? If you are, the doctor may reduce your dosage. I'm not bald by any means but my bangs are really thin and I find overall my hair is much thinner. I don't wash it as often because I think I loose more when I do.
No, I haven't been put on mtx yet. The RD's aren't even sure what I have.
I am just wondering if anyone else has this...I too am much thinner all around and very thin in the bang area.

Don't have the problem. But MTX caused hair loss is treated by adding folic acid.
It might be a side effect of Lupus. But I'm not sure. It's been a really long time since I read up on Lupus.
Give the nurse a call at your doctor's and see what they say. Maybe it's an uncommon side effect and there might be something that they can do about it.
