More Bad Luck | Arthritis Information

Well my appointment for my Orthopedic visit for my foot is tomorrow morning, but wouldn't you know it, was talking to a guy at work whose wife works there and he said "you do know they don't take our insurance", I was like WHAT.  My GP referred me and said they did, now I have to call them in the morning to ensure whether they do or don't, but I am now guessing they don't.  My god, when will it end, was a very bad weekend, couldn't hardly walk.  At work now and trying to walk is agony.  I am hoping to get more predisone tomorrow, as that works on everything but left foot.  Swelling is up past my ankle now on that foot.  Sorry had to vent.

Thanks

Phil

That sucks, when you get the appointment they should tell you whethet or not they take your insurance...hopefully your friend was mistaken.I hate insurance. I hate dealing with insurance. I hate the constant "gotchas." I hope you can get some help, whether from the doctor or someone else soon. I know that if it's not this doctor, there will be another delay. I'm so sorry. This has happened to me again and again and again, so I know what you're going through.

That is rotten luck no doubt!! Wait, wait and wait...then this! Hang in there. Maybe you'll get lucky.

Wishing you luck....

I hate insurance problems.  I have been there but now I have excellent insurance and almost feel guilty.  So many people have to fight for what should be a right - good health care.  I hope your co-worker was wrong and there is a way around it.  Maybe you can appeal.  Good luck.  Rox

Whew!!!! dodged a close one, I called them this morning and explained my situation and they said they do except it.  Thank God.  Took me 15 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the 2nd floor office and was in there a total of 10 minutes, he then said that he wants to have a CAT scan of my foot, because its not the arthritis and he can feel lumps on the bones.

On a bright note, my GP gave me some more predisone, although he lowered it from 20 mg to 10 mg dose.  I've taken 3 today (suppose to take 4) and feel a lot better (well except left foot).  I have read stories about predisone here on this forum, but for me I've had no adverse side effects, just takes the pain away.  Although I do hope this med isn't addicitive.

Excellent!! Glad you were able to get in at the doctor. Anxious to hear what's up with the foot....keep us informed.
