I saw my GP the other day about my continued pain and stiffness with ra.  He noted that the best way to control pain was to control the ra.  I told him my liver didn't like most the DMARDs I tried and that the only meds I could tolerate was Enbril and Celebrex.  He noted that if the Enbrel wasn't stopping the ra, that I should stop that too!

I know that painkillers are just short-term answers to the pain assoicated with ra. The only thing I don't understand is how to "control" the ra.

That's certainly a good question. If you can't take the majoirty of the DMARDS what can you do?

I agree with your doctor....control the RA and you'll go along way toward controling the pain; BUT in a situation like yours what can be done?

So frustrating!!

Isnt that the Million Dollar question?
