Hi Phil

I can't remember if you said previously whether you had an appointment to see a rheumatologist? I'm so pleased the cortisone shot is giving you relief, but if you indeed have one of these types of inflammatory arthritis, the shot will be only a temporary fix. You still need to see a rheumatologist and have blood tests done etc (to check your levels of inflammation for example.) Forgive me for nagging, but I am a Mum and so expert at nagging

Enjoy your improved foot!

Hey Wendy,

I have an appointment with a rheumatologist on Monday the 31st, but it was canceled and rescheduled to Friday the 4th of August.  The swelling has went down mostly in my foot, well at least on one side and the extreme pain has went away, although there is some pain still, but a different type, now it only hurts a little when I put any pressure on it.  When at rest it doesn't bother me, where as before it hurt all the time.  Woke up on my first morning pain free for the first time in a while.  Whats weird too is I have no pain anywhere, seems like all the stiffness left with my foot pain.  weird, but I like it!!!!!!

Thanks for asking.

Phil

Hi Phil

It's fantastic that the pain has gone away to such an extent.  (I'm hoping the same thing will happen with my hip, when I have it injected next week.)

Maybe you've hit 'rock bottom' now and everything will slowly improve from here on in, especially after seeing the rheumatologist in a few days time.

All the best,
