when to call the doc??? | Arthritis Information

I hate to run to the doctor for every little thing, so I end up putting off going until my next scheduled appt (which will be next month). However, I am becoming a major wimp and not tolerating this well right now. I am in constant pain and the fatigue is beyond anything I've experienced before. I started plaquenil 4 days ago and feel so nauseous I can't stand it. This morning I was driving to a school I consult at and had to pull over b/c I thought I was going to be sick. I sat on the side of the road for half an hour and felt like I was going to die. How long should I give this med a try???? Love and hugs, juliah

HON CALL THE DR!!!!!

I don't know but it sounds like something isn't right call the dr you maybe having a bad reaction to the meds.. memeI agree with meme, call the dr, something  doesn't sound right.  I didnt feel worse on plaquinel (sp?)Take care of yourself,it sounds to me you may not have found the right meds/combination of meds.  You have to speak up for yourself, no-one else will.  Take care, and to quote a very wise woman...."love and gentle hugs"

Definitely call your Dr. Don't wait until next scheduled appointment. The Dr. is assuming that if you have problems you will contact their office. They will make some kind of adjustment in your medication. You're not being a wimp, you just want to feel as good as possible, thats what we all want.

Good luck. Make the call.

BarbYea you should notify your doc, you shouldnt be feeling that icky. I was just advised by my rheumy today to stop taking plaquenil. She said thats its not going to help me anymore, Ive been taking it for almost 3 years. But I will tell you this, my eye sight has gotten worse, alot of blurryness. Im hoping that will go away once I stop taking the med. If you decide to stay on it make sure that you see an eye doctor regularly, good luck hun :D *hugs*

Juliahh,

I would call your doctor asap!  You are not being a whimp.

Guess I'll join the group and repeat what's been said "Call your doctor" They set up the appointments assuming that you won't have any problems...and like Barb said; they assume you'll call them if you do.

That's what they're there for Sweetie...get the help you need right awy; don't wait until your next appointment. It will just take you that much longer to get back on track the longer this goes on.

Hope you feel better soon;

Lovie

Thank you all :) I'm calling now. You're right...I guess the doc assumes everything is going well unless he hears otherwise. I appreciate the responses. love, juliah
