My Ortho visit... | Arthritis Information

....and so the story goes like this:

Went for an MRI on my right knee, RD suggested a visit to the orthopedic surgeon, which I already had an appt. with anyways. Went to Ortho doc on Thurs. and he said that the miniscus is torn, and the only way to fix it is surgery. Since my left knee is giving me so much trouble and I have had equal injuries to the L. as I have had to the R. knee, I am getting the left one scanned this week and will most likely need surgery on it as well.

He was very strait-forward with me and said that I can do PT and injections and they may help a little bit for a little while but the bottom line is that I will always have problems untill I get it fixed and the way to fix it is with orthoscopic sx.

I was hoping to do both at once maybe over the Christmas holiday, to minimize the time I would have to miss work. Doc said he doesnt recommed it b/c the rehabilitation time is longer and it is better to have one good leg so you can get around and work the other knee after sx.

So I may be doing one in early Oct. and the other one at Christmas.

TA-DAA!!!     right?
