Does anyone get this?

I have some days, like today, where I feel a constant need to stretch my muscles. Either my arms and shoulders, or ankles/calves or legs and hips.

I feel like if I stretch, I will feel better. When I stretch it feels sooo good, but then 5 minutes later I need to stretch again.

Weird??

You are not weird - at least not about stretching.  Sometimes I feel  like a cat, cause I'm always stretching the way they do!  Sometimes I don't even do it consciously - it's almost at the point of involuntary movement!  But man it feels good!

I feel the same way sometimes...it feels so good to stretch out my muscles but it feels like I could do it all day long! It doesn't last too long each time I stretch. Have a good day!

I'll catch myself stretching my shoulders/arms. Can't do to much with the leg as it makes the knee hurt. Guess I've been hanging around the cats to long.



   MarisaThat is a good tendency Crunchy.  Our muscles can atrophy from RA and stretching is the best thing you can do for that so STREEEETTTTCCCCCCCHHHHH   AWAY.  I love to do stretches in the water.  I really love it when I can stretch my arms over my head which is rare but when I can -  it feels so good.  Wouldn't it be fun if we could all stretch together - we would sound like snap, crackle and pop I feel tlike that too Crunchy. Lots of times at work I go
into the bath room and try to do a few stretches, but it
never seems to be enough sometimes, So on days
like that I can't WAIT to get home, take off my shoes
and really stretch, I tend to be one of those people
who stay at my desk to long without getting up,
whichcan really cause my mucsles to tense up.

I dont know what it is but when I get the urge to stretch it is great, if I unintenionally stretch my foot out when I dont have that feeling, I get a cramp in my arch of my foot or in my calf. OUCH! I guess the muscles just have to be in the mood.

---Or they rebel!heck yeah! happens to me quite often. sometimes it feels like my bones are just curling up inside of me & i have to stretch things. happening to my fingers right now, acutlly.I do too. Wow I would have never guessed it was related, but I'm only three weeks old at this and learning soooo much.RA is so complex...and most people just think it is like a sore knee or elbow or something...NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!I asked my husband today if he would build me a "rack" like the old torture devices, LOL!  What I really would like though is a way be pulled by my head and my tailbone to fully stretch my spine.  It would feel so good! up then stretch back. What really seems like it would
be cool is that you can stretchall the way back-looks
like a great spine stretch!!Have you ever been on one of those inversion tables? WOAH!!! That is the best thing ever. It stretches your hips, back and neck...it is great.

Yes, I've seen those in the PT offices. They look like old fashioned torture racks.

I have the opposite reaction, I want to curl into a tight ball. I think it's from all the pain. I have to force myself to stretch everything out.
