I now have a wheeled walker to use. It's a heavy duty one as I have a few lbs on me. They gave it to me early so I can get use to it. Since the insurance paid for it, and it's mine, I'm going to decorate it. I like something that's different. The only problem is that there's no way that I can carry anything. I need a little tray on the thing so that I can place my dinner plate or coffee cup on when carring it to the table. If, I can't get a little tray, then I'm going to look for a small rolling cart that I can drag beside me. I'll come up with something!
I know that some of you out there have had experience with total knee replacement. So please give me advice on what you did or how you handle the little day to day things such as fixing food to eat, bathroom, etc.

MarisaCongrats Marisa.  How about a tote bag hanging from it.  Not to good for coffee but other things.  I also thought a handsome butler would come in handy

I'm glad you got this. I think it will help you a lot.

You gotta have a horn  - the old-fashioned squeezy bike horn is what I'm picturing.  Then if someone gets in your way, you can give em' a little toot on the horn!

Marisa, I hope the wheeled walker helps you. Mine is a huge help for me. I've been using it for over a year because of my balance, and it also helps the pain in my back a bit to lean on it and take some of the  pressure off my spine.

Mine has a seat and hand brakes. I use it around the house all the time and put a small plastic basket on the seat. That way I can take things from one room to the other. Like the remote phone, my water, newspaper, even a load of laundry if I'm feeling real spry

Sometimes I use my walker when I go out, but usually it's my little scooter for that, and the walker for home. I took the walker to a Souplantation to eat and didn't take my basket. Thought I'd show everyone I could do things by myself and set some pudding on the seat to take back to the table. That was a task I failed miserably! I stopped and the pudding kept going

Good luck. Let us know how you do.

Nini

OH, you guys! Now let's see, the butler, OMG, what I could do with him!!!!
The tote bag is a good idea, thanks Roxy.

HillHoney, I'm still laughing about the horn.

Nini, Thanks for the info. I can just see your things go flying when you didn't use the basket.

Today, I'm going to this medical supply place to see if they have this tray thing to put on my walker. Will stop at the bike shop to see if I can find a horn!!!
When I get my walker all set up, I'm going to take a picture of it and try to upload it on to this site for all to see. If I can't then I'll let you know where you can see it.

   Have a nice day,

MarisaHey Marisa, at walmart they have the sets with the bike horn, little basket and handle bar tassels. They have pink and purple and silver ones. You could get some stickers and decorate it too. Maybe mount a squirt gun to it to remove kitties from your path??
