Gee...after dealing with a nasty flare for several days I broke down and started a "quick dose" of pred to knock it down a bit. I forgot how good that stuff makes you feel! I did more in one day than I have in the last two weeks, including moving furniture, walking the dogs several times, painting a wall in my living room, starting and actually finishing my laundry, and even machine quilted for a couple hours. All without my usual 2 hr afternoon nap. This is how normal people feel and why they can do so much in their lives. I keep forgetting. Sigh.!
I'm sure I'll pay for these accomplishments later...oi.
Ive been on 20 mg a day for about a month and I cant beleive it myself. But I dont think normal people feel this way. I think it's the pred. I dont ever remember having this kind of energy. I too was working on a quilt I am making as a gift. Without the pred I dont think I'd be able to do much quilting.
Thinkthinn~Quilters are special people!! My Grandmother was a quilter and she was one of the most special people I've ever known.
agreed!
Aerpup, Do you go through mood swings and gain weight on the pred. paks? I consider them but my body was so "addicted" to pred, it took me almost a year to get off it. I always wonder if that will happen again but I know what you mean about pred. In the beginning, It is amazing. Way better than any pain relieverEven at 10mg once a day, Pred is not for me.
Pred. was a god send for me when I first came down with RA. Don't know what I would have done without it. Unfortunately, for the year I took it, my bone density went in the toilet even though I was on Fosamex.
