Well I am still plugging away at it. Losing just a little bit at a time, but it is slowly comming off. So far I have lost 7 pounds. I still have a long way to go, but my clothes are fitting more comfortably now. I havent gone down a size yet, but maybe in another 2 or 3 weeks I will notice more of a difference.

I splurged a little tonight after my WW meeting. I took the kids and my mom to eat at a chinese buffet. But I did eat mostly sushi, just one piece of General Tsos Chicken and one rib. I did eat desert too.

It's back to business now though. I have only been losing about 1.5 pounds per week, I want to step it up to 2.5 this week. That is my goal for the week.

I know quite a few of ya'll were trying to lose too...how are yall doing?

Way to go Kay!! I lost weight the slow way and have kept it off since (7 years).  Slow and steady wins the race etc...

Maybe you should give yourself a reward, like a trashy magazine or something else.

I need to think of a good reward for hitting my 10 pound mark....which will be maybe just a few weeks away. It wouldnt be enough to really warrent new clothes...but I do want a new pair of crocs...hhmmm...crocs and a new shirt maybe?

Awesome!  It is just hard work to lose weight and so easy to gain.  I have been unable to exercise recently and have put on a few pounds.  I was considering WW.

Crunchy...are you going to the meetings or are you doing it online?

oh I am going to the meetings...me and WW go back a few years, and the best way to be really successful is to go to the meetings. Once you are there they are really enjoyable and it is just 30 min a week.

I think it fabulous that you are losing weight. Nothing I do works. Unfortunately, the doctor's scale seems stuck at the same mark. But I'm tapering on prednisone and exercising more.

Maybe as I get down on that evil medicine, I will know what it's like to lose a pound.

I admire your tenancity.

I am actually doing well. Since I got my thryoid problems figured out, I started Weight Watchers... and in the three weeks I have been on it, I have lost 11 pounds. I am not eating my activitiy points though... I think they said I should? If so, I am going to start. I don't want to loose too fast. I only have 30 pounds to loose. My goal is by Christmas, to be where I want to be. Hey Dar, we are both at the same place with WW.  And yes, you need to eat your minimum or you will stop losing...your metabolism crashes when you lose to fast. Sounds like you are off to a great start though, and I am sure you will get to your goal before christmas!

Thanks! It isn't easy! Why is it now that I am trying to get back into shape, there are so many family suppers to go to? And all my aunts cook such great food! It is so hard to go there and only eat this and that... and say no to seconds or even thirds. Oh well. That is life I guess. Learning your limitations.

I was going to the WW messageboards to get some help and support, but lately it is so bad over there. Everyone is fighting. They are mean to new people. I tell you, they could learn a lot from the people on this board!

I just applied to go on the Biggest Loser show.

I could be their token disabled contestant!

Dar-that is a shame about the WW board. I went on a few years ago and it was okay. I dont see how anyone could lose weight if they are so nasty to others that have the same goal.

It seems like as soon as I start on a diet, especially WW, there are all sorts of opportunities to eat. When I was on WW a few years back, the day after I started, I won a basket at work that had wine and cheese and other goodies. I put it up in my closet and when I hit my goal weight my husband and I celebrated with the basket.

As a matter of fact, I may go and put together a basket of my own for motivation to have when I hit goal again.

But yes, the chances to fail seem ever-present.....you always have to remind yourself that the food will always be there. You dont have to have it all today.

YEA Crunchy!!! Feels good when you start to loose. Even if it's only a lb.
I finally got off my plateau. I'm now down 13 lbs. Still have to lose 12 more.
I do watch what I eat as some of my meds give me the munchies!!!!
To all who are trying to lose, Have a great week and only one bite of that evil munchie!

MarisaWish me luck! I have to work evening shift tonight... there are so many treats and vending machines at the hosptial, and my job tonight is soooo boring I know I will be tempted. The last time I was working evening shift, by 8 pm, I had bought six cartons (of one cup) of chocolate milk!!! It is my weakness. They were calling to me! I emptied out the whole vending machine of their chocolate milk by the end of my shift. I am filing sheets from 3:30pm to 11:30 pm. It is the most boring work ever... God give me strength! lol Dar
