Skin crawling!! | Arthritis Information

Hi,
I've been experiencing horrible skin crawling sensations on my back
for many weeks now. I thought it was a side effect of prednisone but
now I am also taking MTX and it seems worse. Has anyone else had
this feeling and is it drug-related or RA-related?

THANKS!

I don't know Shannon. I've been on MTX for years but recently I've begun having a simular problem in one leg. It started with just a strange numbing type feeling. Almost like a skin crawling sensensation.....as as if I've got cold chills in just that one leg.

Today has begun to get painful. Seen to stem from my knee. I've a little stumped by it right now myself.

I'll be interested to see others comments on the subject.

Shannon, yours sounds more RA related. See the topic just posted on RLS.

Lovie, I would be concerned about yours because you've had RA so long. It could be a nerve problem that needs to be investigated. The fact that is is affecting just one leg and is painful suggests other things besides Restless Leg Syndrome.

I think you need to call the doctor, Lovie. The nerves can get inflammed or can be compressed by inflammation. But the answer can only be determined by a good exam and maybe some muscle/nerve tests.

It's not really getting better as the day wears on; so you very well could be right. I won't let it go too long.

Thanks Deanna.
