Hello,
I have been on this now for approx 5 weeks (the only RA medication as 7 months pregnant). If you have read my messages before you will be aware that it has worked wonders with me and gave me my life back without any swelling and pain that i was in for 6 months! BUT my Doctor wants to wean me off it as quickly as possible and wants to replace this with steroid injections into the painful areas such as hands, knees, feet, shoulders etc rather than taken by mouth.
I would like to know if anyone else whilst on this has suffered DEPRESSION, CRYING, FITS OF ANGER, AND GENERALLY BEING A BIT*H FOR NO REASON OTHER THAN A SLIGHTLY SMALL TINY THING TO START THEM OFF?????
I usually sit and cry at some time during each day and feel totally pathetic. I am assuming it is the medication that is doing this to me as wasn't this bad before!

Yes, yes, yes...that's the predisone talking dear. If you could get off it and take a get a cortisone shot instead that would be awesome!! Most of the time when I get an injection in an inflamed joint the relief last for months if not more.
Sure would help with the mood swings. I've taken antidepressants during my times with predisone and that helps...but that stuff makes me mean as a hornet. Others here will verify this with themselves as well.

Barbahhh so thats why ive been so short tempered!!! I started taking
prednisone about 3 weeks ago and lately me ive been so moody! Like the
slightest thing just sets me off! Im on Paxil as well but im not sure
if its even doing anything for me. Hm. thanks guys :)
