So Much In One Little Week... | Arthritis Information

Hi Everyone,

A lot of new faces and a few old faces still hanging around.

This week sure has been a rough one!

Husbands insurnace company decided to change plans & hike up the premium

I got my Humira today, and lo & behold it was only 1 box! There were to be 2 boxes!!!! And on that ONE box it said take every other week (14 days)

Can, I just say... I so DISLIKE my husbands place of employment right now, the insurance company, both damn pharmacies, the stuck up head nurse at my RD's office, and the next couple of weeks coming up!

I have been doing so well on my once a week Humira. I have not had one good week and then one bad week since the once a week. I have only had a few bad days towards the end of both weeks, but that is to be expected. Now, I am going to have to go back to having one bad week and one good week until this mess gets straightened out!

Is there any way you can get the Dr.'s office to write another script to fix it? Or better yet, since it's their screw up, maybe they can make it up to you with samples???

I do not know what they plan on doing to help me out. I know they called in the right RX today, but my insurnace will not pay for me to get another shipment this month

I talked to the nurse who usually handles the calling in RX's and she said she did not even know about the call yesterday, and if she did know about it and had gotten the call it all would have been done right. She is good like that, and she knows me, as I use to go to her church. So, today she took care of getting it straightened out for me, and I sure hope she did. I do not want to have to bother with this again next month... I will be sooo disgusted and ticked off that I will just say "Screw It!" and give up, because I am a quiter

I go to the RD tomorrow, for my regular appiontment, so maybe, just maybe my RD will give me 2 Humira shots to get me thru, if not he better at least give me a dose pack at the very least! If not... oh well, I am looking into changing RD's anyways.

Thanks for the reply Honey

Hope it get's worked out quickly.

I am so sick of insurance companies messing up and the pharmacutical mail order companies are the worst. My insurance plan has changed carriers for meds three times this year. Each time they do it means getting new prescriptions  and starting all over again. I used to get a 30 day supply of enbrel for a copay of . Now they are only sending a 30 day supply and I am supposed to copay that amount each time.Meanwhile, we have just changed mail order pharmacies again so it means renegotiating all over again. Meanwhile the doctors get anoyed at us for causing so much trouble, at least mine does.I'm sorry to hear that - and sorry, once again, that an insurance company, looking to save a few bucks, is willing to sacrifice your health. I hope they get it straightened out and sorry, even if they do, that it has cost you this much in frustration and stress.
