Pass me another pain pill | Arthritis Information

That's all I seem to be doing. Can't stand for too long, can't bend the knee without screaming, and getting in and out of my car is very hard. I'm counting the days until my surgery.
Tomorrow, I go to my workman's comp doc at the request of my lawyer. She wants them to place me back out on TTD. Hope that it works as of right now, I have only the money that roomie gives me for his share of the rent and it's not a lot.
I've got my appointments for my pre-op work and I should pass them.
Yesterday, I took my first shower with my grab bars in place. I have two inside the shower and one on the wall next to the shower. No more grapping hold of the window sill and handle when I get in and getting out is so much easier. Before, I would come crsahing down on the one foot that was outside of the tub. It wasn't easy, as I would slide one leg down the outside of the tub, hanging on to whatever my hand found first. Several times, I've hurt my foot and hand getting out. I also have a shower chair now and it feels funny to sit when I'm showering.
The wheeled walker now has a tray on it for carrying my coffee cup, plate, etc. When not in use, it folds down. I chased Amanda, my cat, around the room the other day as I was practicing using the walker. Still haven't try to climb the stairs with it or learn how to turn. Should have some fun learning.

MarisaChange - lot's of change, Marisa. The grab bars sound good. The walker sounds like a big adjustments - and the lack of income  I hope your disability claim goes right through. It seems like a no-brainer, but what do I know? It won't be long, now, until your surgery. I'm hoping it gives you some of your life back!

Me too! I want you to get your life back. Funny, you chasing that cat. If you don't get your disability claim, you may have to do what I probably going to have to - which is go the state aid program for temporary help until I get my disability.

I really hate to do it. But I keep trying to figure out how to make it and I just can't line the figures up. But it might be a temporary solution especially since you are looking at surgery and not being able to work for some time.

Lady, you sure could use a break.

Well Marisa, it sounds like you are slowly getting some things straightened out. I am glad you got some stuff to keep you up-right...no more falls okay????Hi Marisa, Hope your paperwork goes through soon so you won't have to worry as much about finances. Your walker sounds interesting especially with the place you can hold cups. I am just learning how to navigate with a cane. It didn't bother me using it in Rome because no one knew me. Somehow, I feel shy about it at home. Best luck, Linda
