RA, FIBRO AND REYNAUDS | Arthritis Information

I was diagnosed with RA 2 1/2 yrs ago and just in the past few months I have now developed reynauds in my feet...  my toes are blue and cold and numb, especially when I am sitting.  They look pretty disgusting...  but would you know if any of the meds may cause this?  I'm on 10 mg pred., methotrexate, sulphasalazine, folic acid and have remicade infusions.. plus just added cymbalta for the fibro..    so tired most of the time... anyone know about the relationship of all these diseases???

Raynaurds is another autoimmune disease that is related to RA. It's not the medicine, it's the Raynaurds. However, have you discussed with your doctor that you don't feel like this is under control. I would think that if your symptoms are that bad still then it's not under good enough control.

You are on a good mix of medicines, but I don't know if Raynaurds is treated with anything else. You might want to look it up on John Hopkins or the Mayo Clinic web site. Even WebMD should have the basic treatments.

For more indepth information, go to emedicine.com and look it up there.

When the mix of medicines are not working, and you are maxed out, then they consider taking you off working.

Thanks Deanna,

Sounds like you know your stuff!!   I'm new at this message board and I see it helps so many people.
The Dr. said he could treat Reynauds with blood pressure medicine... but my blood pressure is low already.  He wants to try to treat the active Fibro first (with the Cymbalta..just started it last week).. then see how it goes.  I'm on so many meds now ... Thanks so much...
