Enbrel 75mg? | Arthritis Information

I have posted before about the effectiveness of Enbrel. It really does seem to decrease to intensity of the pain and stiffness, especially in the morning.  I take 50mg once a week and by the end of the week, just before my shot day, I really go downhill.  You know the story - can't get out of bed in the morning - have to have pain pills next to the bedside table - blah, blah, blah.  I have an appointment with my RD next week and I am going to ask about the 25mg twice a week or of the 75mg shots.  Does anyone out there take the 75mg shot? Is it one shot or is it broken down into a 50mg shot one day and a 25mg shot later in the week?  That sounds like a better deal? What about two 50mg shots a week? Tell me how much and how often you folks take Enbrel.

Thanks

Randy, you may have answered my question. The only time I do not have pain is first thing in the morning. When I wake up I feel almost "normal" within an hour though the pain, and stiffness are back. I take Enbrel 50mg. once a week. I usually have a "good day" the day I take the injection and it goes down hill from there. I will ask my RD about the 75mg. But maybe the Enbrel is what's helping in the morning..

Hi Randy,

I am presently taking Enbrel 75mg a week.  I give myself a 50mg injection one day, and three days later a 25mg injection.  I think the 50 mg injection is painful and the 25mg isn't too bad.  I have been on this for for three months.  Unfortunately it is not working very well for me, but maybe you will have great success.  It is worth a try.  Good luck.

Melody
