New pain! | Arthritis Information

Hi Everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this kind of pain that Ive been getting on and off for a couple of months?

The pain starts in the middle of my back but only on the right side (dull ache) close to my spine and then travels around to my front and then the pain intensifies to the point where I have difficulty taking deep breaths because it hurts so much. When I take my medication (Arthrotec) the pain goes away. I've read many posts about pain in the rib cage but my ribs don't seem to hurt if I apply any pressure to them. And this pain always happens in the night time. My next appointment with my RD is only in October!

Thanks in advance for any feedback! p.s. I've had RA for 24 yrs and take Methotrexate and folic acid.

HI ahug, I have the very same pain and I have been told by my Rheumy that I have facet joint inflammation in my thoraic spine, mines on the left side, can't drive anymore as I can't turn properly, and this is causing referred pain, it hurts to take deep breaths especially and hurts to look over my shoulder.  Also I have fibromyalgia, my GP seems to think this could also be causing it, it does improve when I take Endone but never seems to fully go away, it always seems worse at night but I wonder if thats because we are still and quiet and notice it more, and of course during the day we are moving and distracted, what do you think?  Kind regards Janie.
ahug, have you checked out the thread about Universal Health Care?  I would love to hear your experience with a National Health care program in Canada.
