Questions about Ultram | Arthritis Information

Hi everyone ...
I would like to know if anyone here is taking Ultram?
The doctor at the Pain Clinic gave me some samples of this, some samples of cymbalta, muscles relaxers and an injection of anti-inflammatory medication (the pills upsets my stomach)
- All this along with darvocet that I had already been taking, from my gp.
Can you believe it ...
even with all this, I'm STILL in pain! I seem to be walking around in a halfway daze and when I first take the meds, the pain seems dimmed somewhat but a few hours later, the pain comes back full force!
This was only my second trip to a pain clinic and maybe someone can tell me if there will be anything that will help me that he can give me.
I don't want to walk around like a zombie but I want something that will help my pain. I am not one to lay around, I have a busy life and the pain has gotten almost unbearable. (dx with fms 15 years ago and arthritis 4 years ago)
I have lived with the pain all these years with not much help.
I have gotten to where I am wondering if life will ever be good again!
He said that he thought maybe the Ultram will help but it has been 8 days now and I am supposed to call him to let him know if these meds are helping.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Barb

I have been on Ultram for a week now and it is definitely making my pain more manageable. (It is still there, but only whispering, rather than shouting in my ear!)

Before the Ultram, I was on 60mg codeine, which did very little... I ended up at my doctor's a week ago, in tears due to the unrelenting pain in my knee and hip.

I hope it improves things for you too

P.S: Codeine made me sleepy, but Ultram doesn't

Since yesterday I am only taking the Ultrum
and Synthroid. All the other made me too sleepy also.
I took it both days at 6:00am as soon as I got up and it works good for me. No sleepiness at all.
It is supposed to be time released so it will stay with me. Let me know later on how you are doing with it.
Thanks for your reply.
