Last night one of our TV networks carried a story based on a press release from a local biotech company. They claim to have discovered a protein that naturally fights inflammation by turning down the overactive immune system. A drug containing the protein, called chaperonin 10, was injected into 23 people with moderate to severe RA. All experienced improvement, including a small number who went into remission. Another mini trial will be done later this year before large scale trials. It's probably 2-3 years away. Whatever happens, it's further evidence the medical reasearchers are trying to find the answer. BTW, thanks to Meme for your welcome.
