Linda’s new job | Arthritis Information

Well I started my new job this week and I am so tired I can hardly think let alone talk to everyone. It takes a lot of energy to start over again at 60 with RA. I'm finding out that you can teach an old dog new tricks. I have to work full time the first 2 weeks and it's been 8 and 9 hour days and probably will be until I get my computer up and running and figure out my new job. On a positive note, I think the move was a good one and that I'm in a good place. I like the faculty here. Everyone is helpful and nice. Only my boss and a few people know about the RA, and then only because I've been limping. I decided to forgo the epidural until later, if then because I'm really doing better on my own. I'll catch up with everyone when the smoke clears.

Linda, Just remember the first week or two of school is tough for everyone...It all will fall into place soon. Glad to hear you are getting along so well, and that you have found some new friends there. Keep us posted!Linda, it's hard - you're right - starting over at 60 isn't easy. But it keeps your insurance coverage, and it will be less hours - just hang in for the next few weeks, and you'll be okay. One day at a time, and you'll make it. Come here to vent when you hurt.  Hi guys, I'm so proud of myself. In less than a week I've learned a whole new computer system and managed to set up my room complete with printer, working phone and message machine. I'm actually in better shape than I would have been at my old school. The new boss does a lot more for us than my old one did, not to say I'm not putting in horrendous hours this week, but it seems like a better setup. I've stalled on the epidural and asked for PT instead (Thanks Deanna) I still have throbbing hands arms and legs at night. Does anyone use melatonin? Are there any problems using it with prednisone, MTX, plaquanil and enbrel. I just took a half a pill to get me to sleep a few nights.
