Going for a second opinion | Arthritis Information

I have been diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis, no blood tests taken, clear bone scan, knuckle bones have enlarged hugely. I have had no pain for a while, accept after they did a hot wax treatment. Is that normal? They also tell me that the wax treatments will make the bone size go down, I find that very hard to believe as it is bone!

I have been taking slazopyrin for a few weeks now.

No the pariffan treatments help with the pain and helps with bloodflow.  but if your bones are damaged, there usually isn't much to help that.

I would probably think if you are on any anti-inflammatories, it maybe keeping your swelling and pain at bay.

But once bone is damaged...it usually stays that way.

Thanks for the advice... Do the bones expand from the prior swelling? Cause apparently they are not damaged. Just big and ugly! After a few weeks, that must have been some nasty swelling.

Is that what happens, sorry I was so emotional in the Dr that I didn't ask...
