I went to the rd and he changed my meds.  I don't really know anything about Humira !  I had been taking Embrel for 2 1/2 years then out of the nowhere , I had a severe allergic reaction.  That was 3 weeks ago.  So No More Embrel onto different meds.  It is sorta sad because Embrel had worked very well.  If anyone has exprience with Humira ,I would love to here from you (good or bad exprience) . Also is anyone taking Combunox ?I'm in the process of switching from enbrel to humira as well.  So I aminterested in this thread.  I have never taken combunox though. I was on Enbrel for about four months, and it didn't do much for me, so back in November I switched to Humira.  I take it weekly, and I think it is helping--at least, more than Enbrel was.  I do have constantly swollen fingers, but as long as I exercise, (which I do religiously), I am pretty good.  I have had absolutely no side effects from the Humira, other than a slight headache the day I give the shot, and some minor sight reaction after each shot.  It did take a few months before I felt the Humira was working, and there was a time when the rheumatologist almost switched me to Remicade, but I do not want to do the IV thing.  I think the Humira is keeping my RA to a simmer, instead of a full, all out burn!  Hope this helps!

Combunox is a fairly powerful nsaid. I put in a link here which has some good info on it

Hope this helps, havent tried Humira myself yet. Still on Enbrel.

I've been taking Humira since December; and last month switched from bi-weekly to weekly because the effects didn't last a full two weeks.

I'm doing well on it in combination with MTX (22.5mg) but like Jeanne said it took me a while to get results as well...at least a full three months and even then it wasn't until weekly injection have I sung the Humira praises. I think Jeanne describes it best...it's keeping my RA at a "simmer" instead of a full boil. I won't lie and say I'm completely pain free....but I'm climbing stairs again and 6 months ago that was a dreaded task.

I wish you the best of luck with the switch...I know that has to be frustrating to finally find something that's working and then have to come off of it...I fear that with humira as well. I think we all have these fears.

Lovie
