Dreamer, perhaps you need to find a different cardiologist - one who is more current on the research.  I remember about a year ago hearing that the anti-CCP test was being used in research to identify individuals who at a higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease.

I just found these links:

I'm sure you can find more if you do a little research.  You definitely are not crazy!

Elaine,

There is a direct correlation between the two. Just like inflammation anywhere else in your body, your arteries and your heart can be inflamed.

I have heart problems, nowhere near as bad as you. But there are also heart problems in my family. My younger brother had a major heart attack at 40. My mom and maternal grandmother both needed pacemakers. My maternal grandfather, maternal grandmother and my mom and now me all had high blood pressure. My  maternal grandmoter also had angina.

I have had pericarditis and the high blood pressure. My sister and I both have mitral prolapse valve.

So, family history is one problem, then you add constant inflammation which speeds up heart problems and you can have real problems. A really good cardiologist that is communicating with your Rheumy is vital.

I also have some thickening of my heart muscle occuring.

Anyone that has RA and any woman should be aware of the dangers and symptoms.

Regarding exercise, you should go by your cardiologist's recommendations. But I would bet that he would agree to water exercises. He would also be able to give you guidelines as to how often and what other activities are good for you.

With RA, it is very difficult to do cardiovascular exercises. But if you can walk, that's a possibility. But these really are questions for your doctors because no one here can give you medical advice, particularly since this is your heart we are talking about.

Long term treatment of agressive drugs are possible causes to 3in1 such as arthritis, coronary artery disease, and diabetes.

These chronic diseases are dynamic and react to bad foods to cause flare up and emerge more powerful and destructive against progressive level of drug treatment.

Selective natural foods like vegetables, fruits, juices/water can help to improve energy level to harmonize with these diseases so as not to trigger frequent flare. Thought there is no cure but natural foods can increase gradually the body energy level to interact with these diseases and slow down the progress.

Appropriate herbs can ease pain and "neutralize" and "nullify the damaging effects of these "monsters" living in the body. Be a "master" learn and understand the behaviours of these "monsters" not "slave" to the "monsters". When the "monsters" turn aggressive-stop, control, manage and nullify its destroying effects and move it out of the body as toxic wastes. All the actions are possible.

Improve the body energy level and reverse the severity of these diseases gradually with natural foods diet and herbs. It is a road of hard work with determination. Also the need of right "weapons" of herbs to fight these "monsters".

The "master" chooses and makes decision. It is you can turn the table.

Hi, I have cardiomyopathy as well as RA. The CM came on suddenly, apparently from a virus. I never smoked, never had diabetes, had LOW blood pressure,  and clean beautiful clear arteries. CM is probably an autoimmune condition of the heart.

Between the fatigue and the foot pain I too have a lot of trouble exercising. I try to walk daily, but its hard.

I have decided I will concentrate on my RA, making sure I take my MTX because if my RA is uncontrolled I am not going to care about my heart.  When the RA is stable I feel better in every body system.

MY cardiodoc and my rheumy are in contact and all files go between them. I have an echocardiogram a few times a year, and they both agree with my stance. The important thing to both of them is that I not get sick with flu or pneumonia, since it can get very bad easily.
