I am awaiting to see if I am going to be able to take Humira.  I think I am putting alot of trust in it, that it will make me feel 100% better.  Anything has to better than how I feel now.  Those of you who do use Humira, can you tell me what it is like, any side effects you have noticed.  And most of all how long before it works.  Thanks

Franny;

I've been on Humira since December. It took several months to work for me...and that was in combination with 22.5mg of MTX a week. I started out on bi-weekly doses; and now I'm on weekly doses (as well as MTX). I've finally become a believer...but like I wrote in another one of your post (I'm just catching up...sorry I'm late replying) I have finally come to the realization that I'm not going to be 100% better. I do however feel better than I have in a very long time...and my energy level increased within the first week; although my pain did not.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you will have success as well...however; give it a change; and don't expect 100% improvement. If your anything like I was in the past; some improvement is so much better than nothing. I can honestly say this is working for me better than anything else has...so I consider myself lucky.

Wishing you luck,

Lovie

Did my first injection this afternoon.  Everything went very well, better than I expected.  I had a very tiny bit of sting and a small (quarter size) red patch that is completly gone now.  I can't even find the injection site right now.  If it helps over a two week period, I'm so glad.  It was different from embrel.  My dr told me that he was suspecting that enbrel wasn't working for me so he was glad to see that I was willing to try humira.

I'm not sure how it works in the US, but here is Canada, Humira is shipped from another city as it is very controlled.  It is not avalible in any neighbourhood pharmacy.  It was delived by courier, thank god I have insurance.  I don't know how much this stuff costs but I'm sure it's not cheap.

I'll keep you posted as to how things go.

I'm real glad to hear it went well. That's awesome!! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll get the results you seek.

Mine is shipped from a specilty pharmacy in the next town over. I take it every week and it would cost about 00 a month if I didn't have insurance. I wouldn't be taking it. That's about a months salary for me....no way could I do it. It's sad that they charge this much; it could help so many; but only those with insurance drug plans have access to it.

Lovie
