Bad couple of days!! | Arthritis Information

Just want to see if anyone else has had this problem:

On Monday I started aching all over with stabbing like pains.  Then I couldn't hardly move by the end of the day.  I called my Rhuemy's office (which the two girls who work the front can't stand me - which is another story within itself) to let them know I was having a flare up and would be missing work that day, could I please get a note excusing me for the day.  She stated something to the effect that he would have to see me for that, but she would call me back.  The next day I am in Urgi Care in so much pain and an excrutiating migraine, can hardly move.  Then you have to go through the spill of all your symptoms/conditions/medications.  They finally gave me a shot for the pain and it helped alot. They wanted to admit me because of my INR/PT levels were off.  But who wants to go into the hospital - especially since its just me at home and I have a small dog, with no one to help take care of him.  I went home still hurting but bareable.  I had to miss another days work, with a co-worker telling me my boss was aggrevated I was out.  WONDERFUL!  One more thing to worry about.  Anyway... to the point... the pain started again and ended back up in Urgi Care same treatment.  Now three days of complete bed rest the pain is subsiding but I feel like I have ran a marathon.  No energy, no will to do anything.  Writing this has been quite exhausting.  Is this what they call a full blown flare up?

Oh... called the rhuemy's office and asked what happened to my call back.. "oh.. I will have to ask him... "  I said never mind.. thanks anyway and hung up!  I like my doctor.... but the staff!!

I will appreciate all your input... thanks.

Dana, Glad you are on the other side of your pain. Been there, in agony, try
to get help from rd or primary. No call backs, end up in urgent care.
Couple times took a taxi as I could not drive. The work thing - been there.
You have to ignore them and your boss. If she harrasses you at all -
document it. You are disabled and ADA laws apply. Your coworkers and
boss have no idea what it is like to have ra. WE DO. We know what you are
going through. Come here for support. This is where I always get my sanity
back. I am a worrier. Sounds like you are too. The worst thing we can do
for our ra. Read what "Now and Then" wrote me on treading water thread.
Good advice for us worriers. Feel better and I hope your little pup is in your
lap right now. Don't know what I would do without mine. RoxyDana, I haven't had a flare like that since I was first diagnosed, but I do remember it. I can't keep up with everyone's meds. Are you on a maintenance dose of pred? If you're not, it sounds as though you should be. It's evil stuff, but it does help prevent total flares like that for most people.

Otherwise, what Roxy said. Good luck!
