Has anyone found that they had RA, then Enbrel/Humira triggered onset of lupus?
Hi, I just found this forum and want to answer your question. In 2005 I was on Humira and developed vasculitis in the retina of my left eye. While the doctors were trying to figure out why I developed that, the blood tests for Lupus came back positive. They tested me for everything under the sun, but the only positive tests were ANA, C4, IgG, and other tests that indicate Lupus. My Rheumy took me off the Humira and 6 months later my tests turned negative. Surprisingly she redid the tests last month and they are positive again, but the titer isn't as high. So she's not sure what I have. I've always been told I have seronegative RA and Sjorgrens, but now she's thinking to add Lupus to that.
Did this happen to you?

Hello from a newbie!
Hi out there. I wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I’ve been searching the web for info about lupus and found this board. I’ve never thought about joining a board before, but after reading through some posts, I’m happy I did. I just want to say thanks to everyone for the support you offer hereI found this site called realhealth.tv which has a great video. Even though I am a new member, I think everyone here would really like watching this film b/c it was really nice hearing and watching someone talk about their difficulties and how they cope. I wanted to share this with everyone here, hoping it would help you guys too. Here's the link http http://www.realhealth.tv/site.html?goto=31&vid=34&vo =0
Hi all,
No, but I had been on all of them before getting a huge blood clot in the lungs. I am always told I have a high lupus count. but that my dx is RA (severe). I would not be surprised if it did trigger lupus. but not just the biologics, all of the ra meds. before I was treated for RA, my flares were months apart. and symptoms only appeared with the flares. after being treated for RA the symptoms became everyday and the flares more intense. at the present time rd are doing what they think is best but I am sure the way ra is treated will change eventually.
