Enbrel and Nerve Damage | Arthritis Information

 

Good afternoon.  I was diagnosed with RA about 3 years ago and have been on Enbrel for about the same amount of time.  About 3-4 weeks ago, I began experiencing severe nerve pain in my hands and feet.  The pain is so severe that I cannot sleep at night ... even with meds that are suppose to make you sleep! 

I had a bad reaction to gold inj years ago _ a central nervous system thing that made my muscles twitch really bad. Tongue, eyelids, nose, lips thigh muscles,forearms etc - would just start jumping. It did clear after about a year when myochristine finally left my system. You won't have to wait so long for Enbrel to leave you. And yes gold was working really well for me

This is why we have such a hard time deciding whether or not to go on this medication. We have no idea what can happen. Some of us are lucky maybe just for awhile. Then some of us get all kinds of reactions. Theres no doubt most meds for RA can do harm. Ive been on Enrel 5 or 6 weeks now and I'm still scared.

I hope this goes away when you are off. I cant imagine the pain you are experiencing. Hang in there and remember we are here for you.

BarbThank you for your thoughts.  I have gotten minimal relieve from the Lyrica that the neurologist prescribed for me .. and who was suppose to have called me on Friday and I still haven't heard from (not that I'm upset or anything!
