my hip is sore all the time, had it xrayed, said it looked ok. its my right side has anyone else had a clear xray when you know something is wrongLots of people have. Sometimes even an MRI does not show damage. If you are hurting keep seeking the cause..

Hi

You might consider having an MRI done, as this will give a much clearer picture of what your hip is up to!

This is most unlikely, so don't be scared, but my severe hip pain turned out to be 'osteonecrosis' (my hip bone is dying, as its blood supply had been cut off). I will need a hip replacement soon.

As I said, it probably won't be that, but for peace of mind, an MRI scan is the way to go.

My hips are the worst part of my RA.  I feel for you!  I hope it gets better soon! I have erosions on my pelvis but since day one, hip pain has been my number one complaint.  I have not had it xrayed or mri since I had both done when I was dx.  I can say, my heart goes out to you.  My hip pain is completely debilitating.  At night I roll back and forth, sometimes all night, trying to distract myself from the pain or massage my hips with the movement.  Pressure sometimes helps.  Sometimes when I walk, if I hold my hip with my hand a certain way the pain decreases.  I don't care what xrays show, something is wrong with my hips, the right one is the worse.  Heat helps, have you tried that?  I love my electric blankie, even in summer.

Could it be the groin muscle on the front of your leg that connects your torso to your leg? It can swell & be v. painful.  I can't remember the name.  But I used to confuse that with a hipbone issue.
