Greetings from New Zealand (somewhere off the east coast of Australia) My name is BJ and ive had RA for bout 10 years. currently on mtx arava prednisone voltaren and all the associated anti side effect business. have an awesum job as an insurance broker, tho most probably wouldnt associate insurance with being awesum its a very flexible job that allows me to work when i feel like it and stay in bed when i dont while still maintaining a lifestyle above the poverty line
as we all know RA has its good days and bad and im grateful that the good days seem to be winning at this stage of the game. am currently training to compete in my very first triathlon, something i couldnt have done even before getting RA so am very proud of this acheivement. one day i got sick of my RA controlling my life so i decided i was going to take over and tell it how to behave instead. lucky for me it seemed to work and while it still lurks there reminding me of my limitations im now the boss and i tell it how im going to live my life!! rather than the other way round.
will be round here quite often as i really enjoy this site. so will chat again at sum stage

HOW AWESOME!! I admire you for taking control of your life like you have. I know sometimes it seems as if our illness does control our lives - even down to our thoughts! I have several hobbies and am going back to college to take the focus off of the illness
