Have severe pain in ankles. Osteoarthritis diagnosed with replacement ankle proposed. Anyone suffering similiar problem Great to chat and exchange

yes, I have damage in both of my ankles from my RA. I was in great amounts of pain and could barely walk. Lately the RA has traveled away from my feet giving me relief but has damaged my right elbow joint.

I cant rotate my ankles any longer.

Thanks for your response. How is your mobility?Have docs given you any indication for solutions. Sorry I don't know much about RA.Def. same problems, wondering about ankle replacement too...I did meet a woman at physio who had both ankles done and she was ecstatic about the results. She moved really well, was pain-free. I chose to do ankle fusions over ankle replacements (both ankles recently).  Ankle replacement wasn't a good option for me because it doesn't last as long as say hips and knees do.  Also, if I found out that the replacement didn't alleviate the pain, then they wouldn't have much to work with to fuse it.  Fusion lasts longer, although it does restrict mobility (I can no longer move ankles up and down, it's just staying in the up position forever), I very rarely have pain in them now. Before I had my ankle fusions, I had ALOT  of pain in them.  Hope this helps ya'll!!
