Had my First Humira Shot Today | Arthritis Information

Hi Everyone

I finally got my first Humira shot this morning!  Horray, I am so hopeful to have a break from five+ years of waking up EACH morning in so much pain!  I don't remember what it's like to be normal.  A nurse gave me my injection because my hands were so stiff this morning, I couldn't do it myself.  The stinging sensation wasn't too bad and only lasted as long as it took to get the stuff in my arm.  Kind of reminded me of the sensation I would get from my gold shots.  Thanks to all of you for sharing and caring.  So far I don't feel any negative reations AND (maybe my mind is playing tricks on me) but, when I woke up from my afternoon nap, it almost felt like it took the edge off of some of my regular stiffness.  I'm being very hopeful and I would just love to be able to wake up just once without having to search for my pain meds before being able to get my body out of bed.  Thanks again for the kind words and encouragement I got from your responses, I honestly would not have had the courage to take this step with Humira.

glad you are getting some releaf from the humira.  i have been on humira since october and i noticed results right away.  But dont be disguraged if one shot you notice something and one you dont .  its not a cure all drug (dont we hope though)  Good luck with it !!!I didnt get pain relief from the Humira, but there was almost an immediate change in the ammount of stiffness and the fatigue level. So maybe it really is gonna work for you. I hope so. Glad you dont have to be anxious about reactions now. It is always a relief to get over that little mental hurdle.

I'm on Humira every week and it's made a huge difference in my well being. I'm real glad you were able to gain the courage to get started Caroline.

When I first get up I'm stiff and sore at times.....but after a shower and a cup of coffee I'm up and out the dorr. No pain meds! I'm not perfect and there are plenty of days I do take something in the evenings; but all in all I'm worlds better.

Remain hopeful! It's very important.

I'm glad it went OK. Good Luck with Humira. I just posted some info on Humira under a Remicade post! LoL Check it out!
