Enbrel vision problems | Arthritis Information

Hi everyone!  I am new to this board and I am hoping you can help me.  I have been on Enbrel for 5 weeks.  No problem until the 5th shot.  The day after I experenced (for the first time in my life) extreme vertigo and numbness in my fingers.  Going on 2 weeks now.  I have been to the PC, ordering and MRI, been to Rheumy says stop Enbrel...MS symptoms.  Has anyone else experienced this and if so, how long does it last?

Call the Enbrel hot line. They have the most 'collected' experience with their drug.

I hope it clears up soon for you.

Been there done that...got the T-shirt.  All they said was "yep" it is listed as a possible side-effect.  I need to get back to work and I am so anxious to know how long this will last.  It is a hurry up and wait thing.  The Rheumy said that the symptoms are MS like.  I just need to get some answers.

Thank you so much for your reply!

Hmmm I have Vertigo for the first time ever, it hit last Friday. I still feel it a wee bit today but it seems to almost be gone. I am also on Enbrel BUT I missed last weeks shot do to the pharmacy screwing up and somehow cancelling my order!?

I did see a regular doc who says vertigo is very common, I didn't even think about the enbrel, she didn't mention it either. So my case could be coincidence, I am almost 3 years in, thought it was only 2 years, man time flies when you start feeling good...LOL.

I would be curious to find out what happens. Please keep us posted!

The enbrel hotline wouldn't or couldn't give you any expectation of how long it usually takes to get back to 'normal'? Well that's rotten because I do not think they are clueless. Did you try to climb the food chain a bit?

Maybe ask your rhuemy to call???

I feel badly - they were helpful to me.

In 2 weeks enough is out of you that surgery is ok. Are you getting better?

cuvp - how are you doing now? Please let us know!

Does enbrel influence the balance of your hormones at all? I know NOTHING about it. I just got to thinking how often things like birthcontrol can make you dizzy or give you vertigo. OR does it affect things like your iron level or protein levels? These are also things that can cause vertigo. Just a thought!
