Increase on Enbrel | Arthritis Information

Hello again,

My Dr. just increased my Enbrel to 100 mgs a week!!! I've been in so much pain over the past several months that she increased it hoping that the pain will ease up. Is anyone else on 100 mgs a week. Also I have the sureclick syringe. Does anyone else use that one? Just wondering if it is more convenient than the regular syringe.

momofthree- keep us in touch with how 100 mg/week is working.  I have heard of people increasing their dosage - mostly to 75mg/week.  I have noticed a dramatic decrease in effectiveness during the last two weeks and I do not know if it is because the Enbrel (at 50mg) is losing its bite or if I'm just having a short flair that will soon pass.

I had posted earlier about others who had increased dosage because I noticed that the 3-4 days after my weekly shot that I felt better, but the rest of the days got worse - until my next shot and then I'd start the cycle over.

Are you taking 1 100mg shot or are you taking two 50mg shots.  If you are taking two shots, are they on the same day or on different days (i.e.  one 50mg shot on Saturday and another on Wed?).

Best wishes.  I have only 1 child and I can barely keep up with her.  You must be a superhero to have RA and keep up with 3.  Those kinds of stories are inspirational.

Best wishes

I will be taking the 2- 50 mgs on the same day. I will start on Sunday

I really hope this helps me I've been hurting for so long and Im tired of masking the pain with vicoden.

2 of my 3 kids are grown 19 and 22. I have only my 12 year old at home with me which she is a dear and a comfort in my life. She helps me when Im in pain.

Are you on prednisone?  This helped me with the pain tremendously.. enbrel didn't work for me... so remicade is where I am now.   Yep Im on prednisone too. Im having an acne problem with that though. Im currently weaning off of it as I have been on it for three years.
