CORTIZONE SHOTS | Arthritis Information

H have osteo-arthritis of the knees and the dr. gave me my first shot of cortizone in each knee.  He said they could take up to two weeks to start working.  Has anyone else had experience with these shots you can share with me?

Hi,

This is Donna again.  I am going to answer my own question.  I received a cortisone shot three days ago in my knee and I am starting to see improvement in the level of pain in my knee.

Hi Donna,

I had a steroid shot in  my right knee 2 days ago and now I am having no pain in my knee.

this is a really old post, not sure you will see this. I have osteoarthritis of both of my knees and have had cortisone injections in both of them.  The shots were extremely painful and only lasted three weeks each time.  The pain of the injection, at least for me, is not worth doing it again.  But of course, you may be totally different.  I did have them in a frozen shoulder and those helped for month's.  Good luck.

I had a cortisone shot in my left knee on Wednesday, and unfortunately I forgot what that stuff does to Diabetics. My blood sugar shot up like a rocket. It did, however; help my knee quite a bit, so I would do it again.
